These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of sailingwego (“we,” “us,” or “our”) and its services. By creating an account or using sailingwego, you agree to these Terms.

1. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity that occurs under it. You must provide a valid email address. You may not share your account or use another person's account without permission.

2. Your content

You retain ownership of the sailing logs, photos, and other content you upload (“Content”). By posting Content, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and deliver it solely to operate the service. We do not sell your Content.

You are solely responsible for your Content. Do not post anything that is unlawful, harmful, harassing, or that infringes third-party rights.

3. Crew tagging

When you tag another user as crew on a log entry, that log appears on their profile. Tagged users may remove themselves from a log at any time. Tag only people who were genuinely aboard and who you have reason to believe consent to being listed.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise harvest content or data without our written consent.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or compromise the security of the service.
• Impersonate another person or entity.
• Upload malicious code or interfere with service operation.

5. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your Content will be deleted within a reasonable period.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

sailingwego is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantees about availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. Sailing involves real-world risk; do not rely on this service for navigation or safety-critical decisions.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, sailingwego and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the site. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
